What’s truly remarkable is that this eerie endeavor, which would typically require six months, is slated to be completed in just a month and a half, and it’s being crafted by 68 eager students.Once finished, the “Florida Museum of Cursed Artifacts” will transform into a hair-raising Halloween attraction, welcoming the public with free admission within Valencia’s Black Box Theater.Fred Lynn, an instructor, shared her enthusiasm for the project. “I love working with the kids. I love the interaction, and I love seeing their minds open up and their eyes smiling,” he said “When you tell them something or explain something, they’re like, ...

LONDON — Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has cooled on plans to travel to India later this month to strike a trade deal as intense negotiations continue and conflict erupts in the Middle East.On Wednesday, three British officials confirmed reporting in the Financial Times that hopes of striking a U.K.-India trade pact this month have faded. None were authorized to speak on the record so were granted anonymity.Sunak has “always said he’d get the right deal, not one driven by arbitrary deadlines,” said one of the government officials.Sunak had planned to attend the India vs. England game at the Cricket World Cup on October 29 in northern India with his counterpart Narendra Modi. But negotiations over tariffs, services, investment, inter-company work visas and rules of origin are still in play — and the proposed signing ceremony risked being overshadowed by events in Israel and Gaza.De-escalating the Middle East “is, and should be, the only game in town right now,” said an industry figure cl...

Kansas City Chiefs (5-1, No. 2 last week)Last week: Win vs. Broncos, 19-8Up next: vs. ChargersPatrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce remain the main attraction, but it’s worth noting how well the defense is playing. After forcing three turnovers and holding the Broncos to 4.0 yards per play, Kansas City ranks ninth in defensive efficiency. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate is moving quickly to confirm Jacob Lew as ambassador to Israel, holding a hearing on his nomination Wednesday as President Joe Biden visits the region to reinforce U.S. support for Israel and try to ease tensions in its new war with Hamas. The request to Congress would cover a year, according to another person familiar with the Biden administration’s expected request. They were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter because the amount of the funding request is not final and they spoke on condition of anonymity.Lew, a treasury secretary under President Barack Obama, was nominated by Biden last month after Tom Nides left as ambassador in July. BRUSSELS (AP) — The alleged attacker who killed two Swedish soccer fans in Brussels this week before he was shot dead by police resided in Belgium illegally and should have left Belgium three years ago.He never did.In a country that has been repeatedly rocked by extremist attacks, the government’s inability to deport the 45-year-old Tunisian national and prevent him from carrying out the attack is sparking a fierce political debate. Many questions remained unanswered as Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson traveled to Brussels on Wednesday to attend a ceremony paying tribute to the victims and meet his Belgian counterpart Alexander De Croo. How was a man who was on police files, thought to be radicalized and being sought for deportation, able to remain on Belgian soil? How did he obtain a semiautomatic rifle and launch such an attack?Investigators are still trying to determine the motive for Monday night’s attack, which happened not far from where Belgium’s men’s soccer team was h...
