(The Hill) -- A man arrested last week over his alleged participation in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol is accused of targeting former President Barack Obama’s home in Washington, D.C., after former President Donald Trump posted what he claimed was his predecessor’s address on social media.Taylor Taranto was arrested last Thursday in the Kalorama neighborhood of D.C. where the Obamas reside and charged with four misdemeanor offenses related to the Jan. 6 riot. Earlier in the day on Thursday, Taranto had reposted Trump’s Truth Social post purporting to contain the Obamas’ address, according to court documents filed on Wednesday. He then began livestreaming from his van as he drove through the Kalorama neighborhood and continued to film after parking his car and beginning to walk around. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Lower Colorado River Authority has awarded more than $800,000 to first responders and community projects in the latest round of the agency's community grants program.The LCRA awarded $814,951 to 34 projects across its wholesale electric, water and transmission service areas. The funds are part of the agency's Community Development Partnership Program (CDPP), which to date has awarded grants totaling almost $50 million.The two largest grants went to Bellville Little League, in Austin County, for a new lighting system and the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department, in Colorado County, for a brand new building.The LCRA said almost half of the new grants go to first responders, giving money for things like fire station upgrades, new specialized firefighting gear, rescue tools and life-saving equipment."These grants will help protect the first responders who work so hard to keep the rest of us safe," LCRA General Manager Phil Wilson said. EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – The man who shot 23 people dead at an El Paso Walmart almost four years ago showed little emotion as he appeared for the start of his sentencing hearing in federal court Wednesday morning.Patrick Wood Crusius, 24, mostly looked straight ahead and occasionally at the bench as Senior U.S. District Judge David C. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Eight people died on Missouri roads over the long Fourth of July weekend, and four people drowned on the state's waterways, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Wednesday.The patrol said 56-year-old James Roy of Kansas City, Missouri, drowned in Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday. The Riverside County Fire Department is responding to a multi-acre brush fire near Temecula Wednesday afternoon.The Sandia Fire, as it's been named, broke out in the late morning near the 48100 block of Sandia Creek Drive, the RCFD said on Twitter. As of about 12:10 p.m., the fire had reached 5 to 10 acres in size and was consuming "light flashy fuels at a moderate rate of spread," fire officials said.
